Letter from Administration
Hillview Middle School is one of three middle schools in the Westside Union School District. We are a 2017 California Gold Ribbon School!
The school which was built in 1993 is located in the southwest portion of the Antelope Valley and serves sixth, seventh and eighth grade students from the surrounding communities of West Palmdale and West Lancaster. Hillview currently has approximately 915 students enrolled. The Hillview sixth grade population is made up of students that applied to attend the sixth grade honors program. These students were selected to attend Hillview through a process which required good attendance, state test scores, and minimum grades in fourth and fifth grade. These students come from various schools within the district and outside of the district.
Hillview offers a strong core curriculum in language arts, math, science, social studies and physical education. Numerous honors classes are offered to our students in all grade levels. Students that require support with their classes have additional opportunities through support classes and tutoring. The elective program at Hillview consists of: band, visual arts, graphic arts, industrial arts (wood shop), Robotics, Project Lead the Way classes, home economics, and more as part of their elective choices. Numerous clubs, academic teams, and interscholastic sports provide opportunities for student to participate and interact with each other outside of the school day.
Our goal at Hillview is to provide our students with an outstanding educational experience in preparation for the next levels of education.
